Take Charge America, Inc. Credit Counseling and Debt Management provides the project with a generous annual grant. The funding supports the dissemination of curriculum materials through our Web site, and scholarships for educators to attend the national annual training in Tucson, AZ.  The annual grant also provides for the FEFE staff and its ability to develop, test, edit and evaluate curriculum materials on a regular basis.

Take Charge America Institute – The FEFE program is housed within the University’s Take Charge America Institute (TCAI) for Consumer Financial Education and Research. TCAI is dedicated to improving the money-management skills and financial confidence of consumers of all ages through the development and support of research based educational outreach programs, including FEFE.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).  With more than 225,000 members, FCCLA is a national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders by working on family, work and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education. The partnership began in 2004 and we joined together with the mutual goals of strengthening families by improving financial literacy. As a result of this collaboration, FEFE has developed materials including integration guides and enhancement tools to assist FCCLA advisers and members strengthen families through financial literacy. In addition, FEFE sponsors the annual Financial Fitness Award for chapters that use the FEFE curriculum to develop a project which addresses financial literacy in their community. Advisory Boards

Ongoing collaboration among classroom educators, university academics, and business partners is the hallmark of FEFE’s success to date and fundamental to FEFE’s continued growth. This collaboration ensures that the FEFE curriculum materials and training models are research based, up-to-date, and proven effective by educators. FEFE is guided by three distinctive advisory groups:

  • A National Master Educator team of selected educators from across the nation works with FEFE’s university staff to develop and evaluate curriculum and conduct peer-led
    trainings.

  • The TCAI Research Advisory Council of prominent national researchers from a variety of academic disciplines ensures the incorporation of cutting-edge research insights impacting consumer behavior into all TCAI educational outreach programs, including FEFE.

  • An Institute Advisory Board brings participation and strategic planning input from other financial institutions and industry leaders who have an expressed interest in promoting financial literacy.
