Family Economics & Financial Education

Welcome

Welcome to Family Economics & Financial Education (FEFE). The FEFE project is in collaboration with the Take Charge America Institute at The University of Arizona in Tucson and the credit counseling and debt management company Take Charge America, Inc. The FEFE project began in 2001 at Montana State University and in 2006 relocated to The University of Arizona.

 Our mission is to provide educators with no-cost curriculum materials and the skills and confidence to effectively teach family economics and finance to their students. The project accomplishes this by:

  • Collaborating with educators to design, test and edit curriculum materials for other educators;
  • Providing educators with opportunities to expand their knowledge of family economics and finance through training, newsletters, and individual assistance;
  • Posting a Web site with no-cost family economics and finance curriculum;
  • Offering ready-to-teach lesson plans, based on the theories of active learning and multiple intelligences that are straightforward and require minimal educator preparation.

 Important Announcement: Profile Update required to access FEFE curriculum after December 2007!

  • To ensure answer keys are for educator eyes only, FEFE has created a validation process for FEFE Web site users to be able to access and download answer keys. If you have not updated your profile since December 2007, you MUST do this to continue downloading the curriculum and answer keys. After you update once, you will not have to update again.  Follow the stated directions to update your profile:

    • Login to your account, update your profile, then select "submit" or "edit profile";
    • Once your profile is updated, you will receive an email to confirm your account information. Respond to the email to activate the account and to begin downloading curriculum.
      *You must use an accurate email address or you will not receive a confirmation email and your account will be deleted. *If you do not receive this email, check your junk email box.
      *Please do not create multiple accounts.
  • After you confirm your email address, we will validate that your information is correct and you will receive an email letting you know your account has been validated, giving you permission to download answer keys.
    *If your account has not been validated, a prompt will appear when you attempt to download answer keys stating that you have not been validated, therefore unable to download answer keys.
  • If you do not quickly receive an email validating your account, please contact FEFE at 520.626.4209 or email fefe@cals.arizona.edu and we will validate your account immediately.  We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused as we improve our system.
